Wayne has spent most of his professional life in the IT field. Wayne is a graduate from Processor Vocational High School in electronics’. Wayne attended U of I at Chicago Circle campus and was studying geology. Wayne started working for the Chicago Tribune in 1977 as an IT consultant and worked on the automation of the newspaper over the next 23 years. Then in 2000 Wayne joined Jones, Lang, LaSalle (JLL) as a senior global project manager. JLL is a global commercial real estate company that manages leases and sells commercial real estate. Wayne was part of a manager of a global team that created and installed a global internet, extranet and intranet system worldwide. After completion of that project Wayne decides it was time to retire from the IT field and open a restaurant in 2004. In 2008 Wayne received his real estate broker’s license.
Wayne joined the Betancourt Realty team as a resident broker, and specializing in commercial real estate in 2008 as real estate broker associate. As a life time resident and owner of Janik’s Café along with his wife Felippa, in the Bucktown, Wicker Park community Wayne has thorough knowledge of the market, and community. Wayne is involved in the community in many ways. Wayne is on the Broad of SSA#33 as secretary, on the board of the West Town chamber of Commerce as Vice President for 2010, active member of the National Association of realtors (NAR), Illinois Association of Realtor (IAR), Chicago Association of Realtors (CAR), and an active member of the Governance committee of CAR.
